I just bough nascar 2, should I install it in DOS or WIN95?
I have a Dell Pentium II 266, 64mb EDO ram with ECC, and Matrox Millenium
II w/ 8mb WRAM.

It really doesn't matter as it installs the same version either way. Some
have had problems with Sierra's install program overwiting a DLL needed by
Internet Explorer, so the DOS route might be the safer way. After it's
installed, go over to Sierra's webpage and download the patches you'll need.
You also might want to pick up the 97 cars. There are quite a few places to
get them, but I'd suggest IWCCCARS:

Wow I never heard that they knew what it was that screwed IE up.
I believe re-installing Internet Explorer 3.01, 3.02 or 4.0 will fix the problem.
Re-installing IE 3.0 which was common when the game was released
does not fix it. Also, this is another example of how a program can break
your system (filghtsim people will get the connection).
BTW, all you have to do is simply RUN the Win95 Nascar2 install program.
Even if you cancel out and install nothing your IE is hosed. I use the DOS
install & run the game via DOS. You can still use the modem and connect
to people with the Win95 installation. And by all means get those cars Eric
mentioned. Those guys did a great job.
