NASCAR Paintkit question

by Alan Sherman - » Fri, 24 Feb 1995 02:29:59

Hello,

I just got the new '95 paintkit from ftp.webcom.com and was wondering if there
any way to merge my car from a paintkit I created into the new '95 paintkit.
I would hate to have to repeat all my work on the car I drive in the '95
paintkit once I install it on my system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank.

Piece of cake.  Just check out page 172 of the manual.

I'd read the manual from Papyrus!  It's fully covered in there.

If you got the Paintkit from an ftp site, it is piracy, it only comes with
the purchase of the game.  But what doesn't make sense is... if you have
Nascar Racing, then you should already have the paintkit.

It is not...he said the NEW --95-- Paintkit...Nascar buyers get the 94
version...so it is a paintkit patch. Perfectly legal. :)

In answer to your question...just copy the file to NASCAR Directory and
export the spot you want your car to go in...then rename your personal
file the name of the file you exported...after you delete the old
one...don't worry, you won't lose it...then go back and import the car.
Don't forget to do this in a NEW car set or you WILL lose the car you
exported. See if that works. :)

I think he's referring to IWCCCARS (the '95 paint SET, not KIT..) here.  To
the original poster, yes, you can merge your car from your old set.  Just
export your car out, and assumedly it will be NASC94.PCX.  Then type "paintkit
newcars" and you'll be into the IWCCCARS file.  Import that in place of the
#66 Domino's car and you'll be in business.

Hmmm, I got the impression that he just got his words a little bit mixed
up here.  I think he means the car sets that are created with the paintkit.
Which, of course, he should be able to save his car off as a .pcx and
import it into the new carset....

I believe the original poster meant a re-painted car set (I think it's called IWCCCARS.ZIP
or somesuch).  Not "Paintkit" per se.  It unzips to produce CARS95.

BTW: this car set is GREAT....you should get it.

Which directory at ftp.webcom.com has the paintkit upgrade?
I checked pub/sabata (the only one I knew). Could someone post the site and directory?
Thanks
