GP3 - Driving through Monsoon Sally at Monaco with Sid.

Hello Ras,

Well......in the end it was " Mr Boss - the wife's got chickenpox."

My excuse anyway.

Bought it, installed it....got all my mates around....and finally played it.

Hmmmm...first impressions.

"Shight graphics.." sez Nobby.

"Sounds like a wasp farting - again." muttered Eddie.

"You need a new ***ing wheel sunshine...." grumbled Sid (6ft 2", built like
a brick shitouthouse and who's opinion of GPL is - "You have got to be
***ing joking..........I cannit keep the ***er on the road")

Sid is a ladies man.

So....first impressions were "not very positive"

But....

Once I had a bit of a fiddle around, got my graphics card sorted, wheel
calibrated - bastard.!!!...and one or two other important things
fixed...such as handing the broon ale out to quell the feelings of
depression.

Away we went again.

Hmmm.

My system: PII400 - 64mb ram, V3 and er....14" monitor.

Well...now then.

Graphics....running at 800*600....PO notching 105% at Monaco....up to 125%
at start of race.

Looks fine.

Runs fine.

Quite pleased.....much better on my system than expected.

Thumbs up.

*

Monaco in the rain.

"Oky-dky" sez I.."where to race first.?"

"Monaco...in the ***ing wet....!!!"

So...Sid gets first go.....it may be my computer but Sid's a big ***er and
who am I to argue.?

*

Set on Pro.

Qualified last in the Jordan.

Snorted beer laughing at his "driving skills"

"Fookin hell.....this is fookin great...hard, but fookin great.!!" shouts
Sid.

We all nod.

*

Race Day.

Its pissing it down.

Sid's scratching his head.

"Ney *** laff mind..."

No Sid.

Well...what can I say.?

Monsoon Sally hit big time, Sid slithered away like a pissed duck and spent
the next 20 minutes swearing and cursing all asundry.

By the time he finally totalled the Jordan on lap 14, he'd been lapped
twice, pitted "these tyres are nee fookin good.!!" - he started on inters -
"its just ganner be a shower lads." - er nope Sid...wrong call and nearly
gave himself a coronary as he wrestled with the wheel.

As his car was hauled away...Sid staggered to his feet, red of face....

"Well Sid....what do you think.?"

Sid grabbed his can and gave a thumbs up.

"Fookin great...."

*

Later - on my own.

My opinion.?

Yep....games got some major faults.

I haven't a clue if the physics are ok....personally dont give  a monkeys
chuff.

On my low-end computer....the game runs great - smooth even at Monaco.

Thank *** fer that.

Sounds shite....no big deal.

But the most important thing to me is there...gameplay.

It is ***y fun to drive.....and for me thats good enough.

Ian.

ps: Oh aye....driving in the wet is just soooooooooooo "fookin great."

LOL :-)

That's probably the most entertaining review about a racing sim I've
readed in years. It make you fall from your chair in laffing
convulsion.

You should start a game review center on the Web. It would be the
starting page in my browser.

I love Sid :-)

Now tell us, does Sid exist, or is he a character from a certain UK
comic?

Hmmm???

JB,

Sid's really real.

Just don't call him Sidney unless you want your knackers in your gob.

He's the same age as me - 38, sports a razor crew-cut, is  a blacksmith
striker and has got a "suck it and see" tattoo below his belly
button.......Er....he showed it to me once - the tattoo that is.

Funniest thing I ever saw was him trying a lap around the ring in GPL just
after I'd got it.....

He may as well have been driving a grass-cutter.

I think the term "expletive deleted" sums it up.

BTW - it took him nigh on 20 minutes to get roond.

Ian.

And the prize for the most entertaining (and accurate) review of GP3 goes
to........

I needed that, still laughing like a drain,
