Hi JM.
I have been to every festival since they began. I think that is six in total
now. I can vouch for the event as completely essential. It is just a pity
that the last couple have been total mudbaths. Having said that, the sight
of John Surtees gunning it on two wheels at a time when the track was at its
wettest, and getting fastest time of the day will live in memory for a long
time.
The paddock is open to the public at all times (complete access) and there
are always wonderful sights. Wait till you stand next to a gp car as it is
fired into life. Words cannot describe it weather it is a Mercedes 196,
Vanwall, Maclaren M23 or a present day Williams.
Forget the GP (you wont get within a mile of a breathing car) we have Murray
and Martin at home for that.
