I can get LFS to work fine in XP, but whenever I try to connect to a server in Win98 (wheel doesn't work in XP) my machine freezes.
Game works fine in single player mode though.

Any sugestions, apart from buy a new wheel !.

Dougal: God, I've heard about those cults Ted. People dressing up in black and saying Our Lord's going to come back and save us all.
Ted: No, Dougal, that's us. That's Catholicism.

Hmm.. maybe buy a new wheel? :)

Since there's not much you can do game-wise, since it's such an early
version.. you could always make sure that you have the absolute latest
version of your wheel's drivers. Maybe there's a way to get your wheel to
work in XP afterall?

If you have multiple controllers plugged in, get rid of them all except for
your wheel.

It seems as though a lot of work is being done on controller issues, axis
assignment, multiple controller support, etc.

The game works great for me (XP - Thrustmaster Ferrari FF), and I've had a
blast racing online all night! Great close racing.. although I do have a
small beef with the people that race with the Turbo and can't even control
it... :(

I had the same problem until i clicked the option "window while
connecting". When i put it on OFF it works fine for me.

there are lots of M.Schumachers online too, that shuts the door on you,
making you crash. :(

Yeah, granted, this is my first time racing something extensively online..
it seems as though a few people don't know how to "give up the line". I'm
guilty of it too I... Maybe if a damage model was implemented, people would
think twice about trying to go 2-wide through the turn 2 chicane. Either
way.. fun as hell

You can go two wide through there, you just have to do it with someone you
trust. Then it's a blast. :-)

This sim allows, even encourages, leaning on your fellow drivers where
possible. Since at least a lane on either side of the tarmac is usable as
well, 3-4 wide seems to be the norm at times.

When it's on, it switches the game from fullscreen to a window - useful if
when you connect to the internet, you get a connection pop-up or something
of the sort.  When its off, the game stays fullscreen.

Yes, the chicane is just fun if you go 2wide scrubbing at eachother, since
it actually allows that. What i meant was more when you are 20km/h higher
speed on the straight, and the guy infront notice you are coming he will do
anything to not let you pass. Even if he has a big off, the
first priority is to get back on track, just to stop you passing :)

I just don't understand why I can connect with the setting to
fullscreen, while I can't connect with the window set to window mode..
Oh well, at least it works. Great fun online, allthough I mainly raced
against the same people who ruin the N2002 races every night on the
Sierra servers :-/
