Oh, one more thing... PC GAMER just gave the ACT LABS RS their Stamp of
approval...

I 've used the wheel at ects, and while it looks great, it suffers from a
couple of problems:

It's just plain not a racing wheel- it's a driving wheel- like you owuld find
in your own car. It's over big, and the wheel is too thick.

The flippers behind the wheel are tiny and hopeless.

It's a lot larger than other PC racing wheels, but not
much different than you would find in a lot of race
cars.  I like it a lot.

They could stand to be a little larger, but that's
something that could be modified easily.  I use the
buttons on the face of the wheel to shift gears, and
use the paddles to look left and right.

I beg to differ, it is hughly different to any wheel you'd find in a race car.
I think the big problem is not it's diamater, but it's thickness. Perhaps not
so much a Stock Car/NASCAR, but it by all means nothing like a wheel you'd
find in any single seater/Tin Top/Rally car in Europe.

Interesting. My impression was that next to say, the Logitech wheel, or
Saitek, etc, i was going to loose too mcuh time over a race fumbling for the
flippers.

In any race car, anywhere?  It is a lot like the wheel in my street car,
and I don't see that as a problem.

Can't argue with that.

I've carried the habit of shifting with thumb buttons
over from using a TM GP1 wheel.  If I had my heart set
on using the paddles, I'd glue/screw/bolt some sort of
extender on the end of the paddle (if it bothered me
that much).
