rec.autos.simulators

The game runs, but has no sound. When it starts it claims there is no
DirectSound device, even though there is, it's DX5-certified, and
works with every other DX3/DX5 game in existence. Then it says it will
use WAV sound but to expect severe performance problems - the sound
was then all garbled so I had to turn it off. Anyone know how to fix
this, if it can be fixed? If not I won't even consider buying the game
obviously.

I gave some feedback in the other post you put this in.  I can't remember
the header right now.

Basically, I reinstalled DirectX v5 to fix my problem which is/was the
same as yours.  Then run dxinfo (in c:\programfiles\directx\setup) and
make sure it all says Certified.
