TM Super Sport-Where?

by Richard Busc » Fri, 27 Nov 1998 04:00:00

After reading the posts and reading TM's page I've decided to buy thia
wheel. Now I have to find out where to get it. It seems the local stores
here in Connecticut don't have it. Compusa ,EB Wiz, Circuit City, etc.
Does anyone know where online I can find and purchase this wheel? It
seems that TM's page wants more for it than others, but the others are
out of stock. I need it immediately!
I've checked Egghead,Chips+Bits,PC Connection, Tiger and others.

Thanks for any help,

I played with this wheel last weekend at the Best Buy in Mission Viejo,
California (I don't know if you have those in Connecticut). It was the same
price as the TM web site however.
I'm waiting for the reports on the non-force feedback Logitech wheel before I
buy another TM wheel, I'm tired of replacing bungees every month.

None of the usual outlets carried it where I live either.  Then I found it at
WalMart, of all places.  No doubt they picked up a ton for the Christmas
season.  I'm sure there's one near you!  I had some problems with it, returned
it no hassle, and ordered a Logitech wheel.  Give the TM a whirl, though; you
could easily spend more for less.

My friend just got one...
We can't seem to get it to configure in GP2: Everything is fine but when we get to
the brakes, nothing moves...
TM's control panel shows it responding as well as the others (steering both ways &
gas...)
What's the way around? If there's one...

TIA

The SS is a bit odd for GP2 in that it uses Joy 1 horiz. for steering and Joy 1
vert. for throttle, with  Joy 2 horiz. for braking.  Other controllers seem to
use Joy 2 for both throttle and brake.  Also, you'll have to use the top
front-mounted buttons to shift, as GP2 only recgonizes buttons 1 & 2 for the
shifters, and the SS paddles are 3 & 4 - too bad. Give that a try; it worked
for me.

Since GP2 is a pure DOS program, setup via Windows control panel (or
TM's will have no affect in GP2).

In the a pure DOS environment the following axes apply to the Super
Sport:

Gas = Y1 or Joystick A Vertical
Brake = X2 or Joystick B Horizontal
Steering = X1 or Joystick A Horizontal
Top row buttons = Joystick A
Paddles = Joystick B

Select an unused controller setup in GP2 and assign the various options
(steering, brake, gas, etc.) to the above.  Make sure you have "Control
Driven Calibration" checked.  Calibrate the wheel according to the on
screen instructions and things should work fine.

The following is the *.con file for the Super Sport using paddles for
shifting.  Place the following file in your GPSAVES folder.

begin 644 ssport.con
MOJ$]A0(                                    & 3+_#$$,!P$R" $R
:_Q R#PX 4W5P97)3<&]R=  T     .()!40
