Toca Race Driver Patch

Hmm, hard to say.  Depends what u didnt like about them.  Im not pro or anto
anything...... Doesnt matter to me, but, i am really enjoying this game.  It
isnt going to win awards for the most acurate physics (which i have a
masters degree in), but it sure seems to make for competitive racing online,
where driver skill plays the most part.  You get dirty in your car, and soon
it'll have half it's body pannels*** off, and be limping round at
50mph.... Thing is, i could probably write a game based upon real world
physics (not over night!) and i wreckon it would be undriveable.  How am i
going to write in the arse tilt angle : )....

regards,
Rick.

I didn't like the AI, I didn't like the fake way that laptimes were
kept down - no matter what you did with the gearing the car would
shoot up to top speed and bounce off the limiter, I certainly didn't
like the no-understeer handling.  If you turned in to a corner at too
high a speed, the back end would just snap around.  If you
accellerated through a corner and hit the magic number, it would snap
out.  I don't ever remember understeering into the gravel, and FWD
cars should be more prone to that that RWD.

The sound was OK in them, though, as were the graphics.  The whole
thing just felt too faked out, tho.

LOL!

Doesn't have to super-realistic for me to enjoy - I like to play
Daytona on the DC from time to time because it's a blast.
The only arcade/sim crossover title that got serious platime from me
was the original Gran Turismo.

With N2003 running I don't get the time I would like for LFS or GPL,
never mind the couple of FPS titles I've got that I'd like to try out
- so I can hold out on TOCA RD :)

ISTR It was well known with Codemasters TOCA and TOCA2 that if you upped
the frame rate (by turning off graphic options) the cars handled better
and you could get faster times.
