Thom
If you are seeing MS as the provider, then you don't have the correct TM
drivers installed.
you should see Immersion Corporation, 23/07/01, and 2.3.6.0 if you're using
the 2.3.6 drivers.
Good luck.

F1 2001 FF Thrustmaster Ferrari Help!

by Jason Mond » Sun, 30 Dec 2001 07:43:28

You'll know when your Ferrari FF drivers are really screwed when you
cannot save garage settings or replays during an N4 online session :(
If that happens do a fresh install and just stick with the 2.0.16
drivers that came in the box.  They're nothing fancy and tool
programming software kills N4 and almost everything else, but at least
everything works.  We'll almost everything, but that has to do with
NHL2002 that you probably don't have ;)

If you have the 2.0.16 drivers, re-install them and overwrite any files
it complains about.

Jason.

F1 2001 FF Thrustmaster Ferrari Help!

Thom,

Can't help you with the TM stuff, but for the steering lock, you need
to look at three things.  First there is a steering lock setting in
the vehicle setup menu, that sets the maximum steering angle of the
front wheels.  Higher numbers here give you more responsive steering.
Anything less than 20 is going to be tough on tight courses like
Monaco.  Next is your X Axis sensitivity in the advanced controller
menu.  This controls how much turn of the wheel it takes to get to
full lock, at low speed.  Higher numbers equal more responsive
steering.  Lastly is the Speed Sensitivity setting in the controller
menu, which determines how much the sensitivity is reduced at higher
speeds.  100% gives the maximum reduction at high speeds, 0% results
in no reduction at high speeds.  I have mine set up for moderately
fast steering at low speeds and minimal reduction at high speeds.  If
you prefer really fast steering at low speeds but still want it stable
at high speeds then you need to use more speed sensitivity, like DGF
does, more X Axis sensitivity, and perhaps more lock.  There is no
steering ratio variable like in Papy sims, the steering ratio is a
function of the three things I have listed.

Haqsau
Replying from Google because Comcast was too stupid to set up a news
server when they absorbed Mediaone!
