When is a good time?  I personally have no problem with an alternate time
to get more runners on the grid.  It's not my server, though.  What say the
rest of you?

Got it - thanks.

It automagically switches to the next session.  I think the timing is like
this:
practice - 20 minutes
qualify - 15 minutes
warmup - 5 minutes

Then it switches to the race...

Sounds like in order to get the Far East drivers it would have to be like 8am
eastern, or 7pm eastern.  But a 7pm start time would be during his Monday
workday, I think.

I know it takes a while for F1rst to get back to my computer to tell
it to start F1C up. So I know I have to just sit there patiently. And
I did, for at least a couple of minutes.

To me, the odd thing is that clicking the "info" icon for the race
indicated that the server was set to accept a minimum ping of 0.
Obviously, no one except Eldred (assuming he was racing on the server
itself) was going to get a ping of 0. So I assumed that, for some
reason, I was getting bad info back from either Eldred's server or
from F1rst. Which is we I restarted F1rst a couple of times -- to see
if the bug would clear.

Oh well, water under the bridge now. Maybe I'll be free for the next
race.

Speaking of which, in another message there was a question about
starting times. For me, Sunday nights are reserved for another
league. And if it's a race weekend -- in Europe -- Sunday mornigs are
for watching the live broadcast. But later Sunday afternoon wouldn't
be a problem for me -- not any more than Sunday noon is sometimes.

9 AM on Sunday is just to unpredictable for me.  Too much real racing going
on.

I wouldn't mind if we run the races later in the day on Sunday. Has to still
be convenient for the European drivers though.

It's been taking my system a long time to start F1c from F1rst as well.
Probably at least a minute.  Where did you see the ping value?  I don't recall
ever noticing that in F1rst.  If something is set that way, I certainly didn't
do it on PURPOSE...
Nope, I don't race on the server.  That's part of the problem.
Do any of the ISI guys read this NG?  If I stop by your office this week, can
you tell me how to get rid of the unattended 'server' car?

It usually takes between 45 and 60 second for my system to start
F1C as well. And it *did* start up F1C when I selected another
unpassworded race to test that everything was working properly on my
end.

The ping value was seen in two places, Eldred. The first was in
the right-most column of the race rooms. At first, I thought this
meant I was getting a ping of 0 to your server, which is impossible.

When I went looking at the info screen for your race, one of the
pages had a box (greyed out because only the host can set these
values) that was labelled something like "max. allowable ping", and
the value was 0.

This has never happened before -- I ran a few races at the end
of last season with you guys, and I think you hosted a couple of the
ETCC races as well, didn't you?

I didn't host the ETCC races.  I could never get the mod to work, and nobody
had the solution when I asked...
