RacingSim I+II And TNT

by Christian Rüffe » Sun, 06 Jun 1999 04:00:00

Hello,

I have a Diamond Viper550 and run both the Ubisoft RacingSims.
In the moment, the Viper is much slower than the Monster 3D II
I used before with these games. The framrate is much too low to
stand the performance more than a couple of laps.

Does anybody have an idea what to change on the TNT board
to gain more performance ?

I use both RacingSim patches 1.06 and the Detonator 1.9 reference
drivers for the board. MipMappin is already set to 0 according to
the UbiSoft FAQ.

Thanks

Christian

do to your desktop right click then properties...

click on the settings tab... and then click on the advanced button

cleck on the riva TNT tab then additional properties.

play around with the setting (I think the direct 3d is what the ubi games
use, so the open GL settings should be irrelivant.) The little ? in the
upper right hand corner of the window can be used for specific information
on each setting.

Now, the TNY should be much faster than the Voodoo II, that is assuming the
programs did good D3D code, if not then it's the programs fault and there's
not much you can do with teh hardware to make it better.
