I`ve just spoken to a friend of mine at Microprose and he said the
problems are with the mastering of the game, and it looks like it wont
be out until September time!!

Nice to hear that you are one of the million guys with a friend working
at/for Microprose.
But please do me a favour. Tell me what kind of problems could occur
during the mastering process of a game? I'm very interested in that.
I would suggest, that ONLY facts and no more RUMORS should be published
in this Groups. No more heard from a friend or so.
Thank you very much in advance!
Yours
Mikey :)
I think this will be framed as the last ever GP2 "scare story".
As I told you yesterday morning, GP2 was scheduled to officially
"master" (final "gold" copy) yesterday afternoon, unless there were some
last minute problems.
Well, there were none, it did master, and tomorrow morning full scale
production starts ready for the official release at this weekend's
British Grand Prix.
People, the long wait for GP2 is at an end, so everyone can finally see
if it lives up to expectations. Get the pizza delivery place on standby,
lay in a good stock of booze, and get ready for some fun!
Cheers!
John

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-EEEEEEEEEEEEE! Could this be the final gilded ***
truth?? Oh rapture, oh glee!! But will it be released in the US of A at
the same time as in the UK? You see, I am a Yankee Doodle Dork, but I am
also an avid F1 fan who, upon reading your post, must find a clean pair
of shorts! :)

Finally!! Thanks John, looks like our wait is finally over.
Hopefully next Sunday will start by getting up at 5:00am to watch the
British GP live on ESPN2, followed by a full day of racing in F1GP2, and
maybe if the race was decent watch the BBC broadcast with Murray and
Palmer on Canadian TV at 2330.
Almost too good to come true, hopefully though we will be able to pick up
F1GP2 here in the good 'ole USA before Sunday.
Anyhow it's a good thing to hope for.
Thanks for the good news, and for keeping the REAL info flowing into
r.a.s.
Cheers.

John,
Can you be a little more specific? Will it be in the shops on the
Friday, Saturday, Sunday (?) or Monday? Someone has said on this
newsgroup that the first sales will be on the Sunday of the race, so do
I have to wait for the Monday to get my copy?
TIA,
Paul.

Well, there are simply _loads_ of things which could go wrong. Er,
like maybe the cds had the writing on upside down, or maybe the manual
had a spelling mistake.

Although this doesn't discount the 12th July or 17th July release dates - I find
it strange to have the following response from Holobyte. Also if the update
