Yes I think his Subject is true..

"why N2"

and

"N99 sucks"

I think we all agree that N99 from EA sports sucks ;)

(Btw, no I won't flame him, it's Christmas, and he's a too weak victim for
me.  Too easy attack, I like a little bit more challenge).

Nascar99 is a console game from EA. Nascar Racing 99 is the papy sim.
You're right, the Nascar Revolution demo has some interesting features, but the
physics modelling seems too simple

Why N2, N99 SUCKS

They're okay for a sim with a 4-year old graphics engine.

Hint - buy something faster than a 80286.

4-year old sim.

4-year old sim.

4-year old sim.

Hmmm, I guess that's why they released the BGN trackpack and NR99 with
Craftsman Trucks, more tracks, and double-file restarts.  Yup - looks
like they're just leaving us*** with outdated software until they
decide to relase N2000.

4-year old sim.

Are you sure you're talking about Nascar Racing 2 or Nascar Racing 1999?

I see this a s achance to gain some positions.

Bump the AI up from 85%.

Flipping rarely happens in real life Nascar, and I can't remember the
last time simply hitting the wall caused a car to flip.

Turn off brakeing help and shifting help.

4-year old sim.

What the hell does that mean?  No, never mind, I don't want this thread
to live any longer than possible.

4-year old sim.

4-year old sim.

So what, are you there to drive, or fantasize about your pit-crew
members?

4-year old sim.

For their time, they're just fine. If you had even HALF a brain, you'd
see (by looking at GPL) that Papy improves their craft tenfold every time
they release something brand new.

Since N2000 is going to use the same physics engine, I imagine you'll get
the swaying, bouncing, flipping cars that you seem to think are such
important factors in a sim.  Not only that, but the graphics will improve
with direct support for 3dfx cards and (hopefully) OpenGL.

There's a couple of things that I don't think you've considered:

1) Papy can't just shit out a new program every 90 days. These kinds of
programs take YEARS to develope.

2)The hardware to support the kind of sim you think you have hasn't been
built yet.  I'd like to have photo-realistic cars, support for higher
resolutions and larger color depths, pit stalls based on qualifying
order, ***in multiplayer support and other cool stuff.

Sure, the old sims are getting to be a bit dated, but the new version (if
it's ANYTHING like GPL) will be fan-***in-tastic.

The gay Frenchman sez:

<<I think we all agree that N99 from EA sports sucks ;)>>

I'm not sure what game you are referring to by EA sports. The name's
"NASCAR Revolution" Frenchie.

Man do we Americans have to constantly keep bailing you Frenchies out of
embarassing mistakes?! You'd think you would have learned something from
the German butt-whippins'!!

YEEEEHAAAA!
(BTW, I do like "French" Fries, the one & only lasting French contribution
to the world)

It's only a game, it's not real life.  What do you expect?
If you want realism, shut off the computer and go try to drive a real
race car.

>Terrible graphics.
>Slow rendering.
>Herky jerky car physics.
>Laughable AI.
>Poor sensation of speed.
>Poor support.
>Archaic 3d engine.
>Cars that fly around the track backwards at 800 mph.
>Cars that slam on brakes on first lap coming out of turns.
>Cars that bounce off the pit walls and go through them.
>Cars that jump out of your way and let you pass every time.
>Cars that never flip but just spinout upon hitting the wall at Tally at
>180mph.
>Cars that slam on brakes behind you upon entering pit lane if you don't pit
>perfectly in the box.
>Cars that sound like tonka toys.
>Texture maps ala Castle Wolfenstein.
>Cardboard cutouts for pit crew members which never move.
>Cars that never bounce or sway.

>Anyone care to add more reasons why the Papy NASCAR "sims" suck? Feel free.

>Oh, and for those of you with your Papy-issued blinders on, feel free to
>chime in.
>I understand how insecure many of you would feel in a NASCAR sim world
>where you don't have to modify every facet of the game just to make it
>half-ass playable.

>Here's to one day having a true NASCAR sim. (Probably some time in
>February)

>BTW, I don't work for EA, Papy, Sega or any other game maker.

It may not be real life, but it's the best available at the mom

Sorry to all those who must see this thread live for a few seconds more, but I
was curious as to if the jackass who started this thread is also pissed off
because Jeff Gordon or Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn't deliever the damn game to his
door step too.

For all those who are really stupid I am being sarcastic. This game is so good
that it CAN survive for 4 years as a top selling game. Not just as a game
getting milked for all it's worth, but as a top-quality product that has been
unmatched by any drivel spit out by EA Sports or any other software producer.

Ok, lets take this line by line
backwards, I dont know why either.
proper turn, cant always run flat out.
blasting through a turn 50mphs faster then the car can turn you would move out
of his doomed way too.

Look the game is 4 years old. What dont you get about that? Pappy has supported
it longer then most company's. It has flaws, but theres a little more involved
in a sim then a Mario game. Life's not perfect, neither is a game. Just go get
a arcade racer & lighten up.
