Burnout Drag Racing and Sidewinder wheel

Here's the situation.  I am trying to help my father get his new (from me!
:) Sidewinder wheel set up on his computer.  Problem:  I live in Ontario
(Canada eh?) and he lives in Nunavut, which is kind of far away.  Now, based
on what he is telling me,. everything is set up fine in Windows, and the
wheel and pedals work.  However, when he tries to set up the wheel in
Burnout:PCE it doesn't seem to recognize the pedals but the wheel is fine
for steering.

When he is on the calibration screen, the wheel itself calibrates and can
have the left and right steering assigned to it.  However, the pedals dont
seem to work at all.  I have had him set the pedals to both combined and
separate axes under teh Sidwinder profiler, and neither seems to work.   He
presses them but they just won't calibrate.  It's like the pedals are not
even plugged in or something.  Is there some issue with Burnout and the
Sidewinder wheels?  I can't think of anything that would cause this, and it
sucks that he is 2000 kms away.  Anyone have an idea?  Thanks.

What port does that wheel use? I found out that if it uses a USB port you
cannot use the wheel in the game. I found that on the games wesite somewhere. I
would like to use my ForceRS with it to but it just wont happen.

It might be the Pedal mode.  Go to the control panel and then choose
settings.  Try it with 'combined' or 'separate' pedal mode.  combined
should work with all games.  But if the games supports 'separate'
axis, that's the best mode to use.
