T2 Wheel setups

Does anyone use the wheel. All the setups I try from all these places
seem way off and to hard to drive. When I do the setup to where it
drives nice and smooth I go extremely slow, compared to what all you are
saying you are doing. If some of you T2 wheel drivers out there could
send me a few setups, I could find out if it is just my stinking driving
or am I using the wrong setups for the wheel. Thanks.

Well... you've found out that keyboard setups are way different from real
setups (ie. wheel and pedals w/ no helps). Keyboard setups usually have
very little rear wing and some front wing for speed. But since keyboard
users are forced to have steering help and I think opposite lock help on by
the game, they can pretty much drive that setup without going off. Try it
with a steering wheel w/ no helps and you find that the setup has
tremendous oversteer making it very difficult to even get a good lap in at
speed.

There are some folks on compuserve that use wheels w/ no helps and are able
to post incredible times. This comes from a LOT of practice and a good
amount of setup tweaking. However, even their setups are not very suitable
for others in that they have a LOT of understeer and require that you
really cut the wheel to get the car to turn in.

My suggestion is that you put in many laps of practice to learn your
braking, gearing, and turning points. Then start tweaking your setup to
suit your style of driving.

John Wallace mentioned that SRN will carry a detailed setup guide in the
next issue. I'm sure this will be a god-send for a lot of folks; myself
included.

This is good news...all I'm asking for is some baseline setups at tracks,
I can (attempt to) tweak it thereafter. Hopefully they'll do a
non-netscape version, so us lowly Lynx users can read it...
