Racing Legends.....

I know some of you guys talk to the West's, so is there anything you
*can* tell us about it ?

I'm not asking people to break trusts or anything like that, but it
would be awfully nice to hear from someone who has actually had their
hands on a working copy, no matter how early it is in the development
cycle, if possible

Yes I know, I'm not one of those with the most faith in this project,
but if they do make it this time around, I will be there, CC in hand, I
don't mind paying for quality, as long as I actually get quality

Chris tells me that in it's current state - RL isnt driveable anyway( which
figures as they had to start from scratch)

Fair enough, would just love to see something from someone who had
actually seen or tried it as opposed to discussing a concept

I've got some inside information, but I can't share it.  What I can say
without breaking any trusts is "two weeks".

It will always be "two weeks" away from completion.

Andi.

And thus you'll always be wrong.

Not meaning to rain on your parade or anything, but that's *exactly*
the type of thing we used to get on the RSC boards a few months ago.
And it was *always* wrong. I don't think anyone's expecting "we're
going to have this, this and this in X weeks' time"[1], but this is
slightly worrying.

Having said that, I'm a *lot* happier about the chances of RL coming
out than I was about WSC. For one thing, the Wests are willing to go
on the forums and answer (some of) people's questions, which is
always a good sign - remember it happened here with Rally Trophy. And
ot having to mess about with Empire is surely a help in that
department.

[1] Though why not? Who *cares* if it gets out that (say) Ferrari are
in discussions with the Wests? We all know they'd like to have a
Ferrari licence anyway, so why is swirling rumour better than hard
fact? There's far too much justifying any level of secrecy by "it's
commercially sensitive, dontchaknow" - a great deal of it
unnecessary. We need a sea change in the way these things work - so
that a game maker can say "well, we're talking to Ferrari, but I
don't know what the outcome will be for a while. Looks reasonably
promising, though".

2002:

Before anyone makes the obvious point, yes, I *know* the world
doesn't work like that. But it should - and it could, if people
wanted it to.

Well, from a purely logical point of view it is absolutely impossible to prove that
he's always wrong :-)
