WC II Wish list

OK, I know this game is only a pipe dream as of now, BUT if Microprose
(or anybody else) wanted to make an F1 sim, here's what I think it
should have:

1) Black Flagging for shunts, and intelligent drivers that get out of your
way when they're being lapped

2) Fueling issues- running out, needing some (like Indycar)

3) DIGITAL ENGINE/BRAKING- don't throw bullstuff at us;
Accolade's Rally "game" has this, and it sounds tons better
than that FM ***

4) Randomized engine blowouts, maybe some model according to the engine's
output (or heaven forbid, manufacturer's data)

5) AIL Audio support- this may, EVERYBODY gets great sound.

(especially if you insist on using DOS4GW)

6) Power curves, sway bars, brake fade, in-car cameras, etc.

I guess this is just IndyCar with some F1-specific embellishments.

Oh yeah, A TRACK EDITOR OR UPDATED CIRCUITS. Long overdue.

This way, when the circuits change, so could the game.

7) Ability to cache lots of data files; maybe cache the entire track or
something, to get speed without a performace hit.

Any thoughts??

This doesn't have to be randomized. It wouldn't be difficult to add
something to monitor the engine wear and then if you constantly
over-rev the engine you stand more of a chance of a failure.

Yeah , add on circuits would be nice..but not at the expense of
drivability...

Some suggestions of my own:

- perhaps include a team management model (with the option of running
without worrying about it). This way..as you made money winning races,
you could afford more reliable and powerful engines. You would always
have the option of driving all the races of course but you could
manage a team over a few seasons if you wanted to.

- don't overstuff it with superfluous texture mapping.. anything that
slows the game down wouldn't be good IMO. Not everybody has 486-66's
yet<ggg>

- the ability to set up cameras around the course and the ability to
record complete laps to disk..

- a pop up window showing ALL the intervals from front to back at any
given moment..

- better post race information..like the position vs. lap charts in
Chequered Flag magazine

- a better physics model (of course<g>)

- bumps and slippery sections where they are at the real courses (like
manhole covers at Adelaide)

- undertray sparks would be kinda neat..:)

- a complete car paintjob editor with the ability to paint smaller
sections different colours.

- it would be nice to have the car shake a little bit a high speed to
give a little better sense of going 200mph vs going 120 mph..
.
.
.
I could go on and on..:)

The game as it is still wonderful though..I've had it almost 2 yrs now
and I still love it..:)

If you have wish lists for WCII, send it to MicroProse at:

There's no point telling us about it.  Let MicroProse know.

Yes there is a point to telling us: I enjoy hearing other people's
suggestions.  Other suggestions may also inspire a better one from somebody
else.  I do agree that these should be forwarded to MicroProse and possibly
others.  ICR may be interested in what people wish WC could do and vice
versa.  The winners of a competition for the best game is us, the players.

The manual CLAIMS that if you over-rev your engine it will blow
but it doesn't. Interesting...
