It is possible that the increase in framerate is the result of your using
AGP? The patch supports AGP too.

(snipperoo!)
Whatever are you going to do when SU-27 v2.0 comes out?? and speaking of
Papa Doc, has he painted his Reynard PINK yet???dave henrie
Ok I decided after the last post about fps questions regarding the speed I
was getting to do a couple experiments to make this easy. I am glad I did
as this really helped with the D3D flashing. It still flashes but barely.
Ok here is what I did- I am on a Dell 233MMX PII with 32MB of Sdram my
Video card is a STB Velocity running off a AGP port not PCI. Now to keep it
simple I went in to graphics and set everything possible to ON and I mean
everything except smoothing. I am saying light all the buttons in graphics
and turn mirrors to show everything. Tacks and particles showing Image
quality best. Object brightness 75%, clipp 18%, window 100%.
Final verdict D3D acceleration = 34fps
Software acceleration = 17fps
Also this time I did as someone suggested and took the screen shots with
HyperSnap and saved as JPG files so they are a lot smaller
only 56Kbs and 65Kbs so its no problem to send E-mail . I would have just
attached to this but I know thats frowned upon in news groups.
BTW I dont really know why anyone would want all that eye candy as I found
it quite distracting myself but as I said when I first showed up on this
news group I came from SU-27 so Im not used to graphics right Papa Doc
<GGG>
BTW P.D. its me in case you didn't know ( Io ) from the ladder.
Also these tests where done at Long Beach track which if you turn on all
graphics you will see what I mean about almost distracting all those
buildings etc.
I really hope this helps and doesn't get me more flames all I wanted to do
was post what I found in the interest of helping others to sort out this
fine sim. Aloha, Mike
