N2: Bristol AI Pitstops

Hi all,

After applying both patches, downloading the 97 carset from IWCCCARS, and
using the track fixes for maxing out the number of competitors per race, I
started a season on N2. Made it through the first five races of the
schedule and started my weekend at Bristol. Qualified and practiced until I
had the car setup I wanted then started the race. Things were going fine
until about lap 70-75 I hear and see the rest of the field starting to make
pitstops. I look at my fuel gauge and see that I have half a tank left! My
pit window is around 150 or so. I can see Gary Nelson inspecting my fuel
tank after this race in my mind.<G>

It's obvious that the pit lines in my Bristol text file need some
adjusting, but I haven't ever tinkered with those particular lines before.
Would someone please help me out on this adustment? Many thanks.

Maybe, but how were your tires?

Not really.  How many times have you heard of a driver going 150 laps
at Bristol?  70-75 is a good pit window because you're gonna need new
tires.

My tires are fine through 150 laps. 75 laps at Bristol is only about 40
miles. Tires should last considerably longer than that I would think.

Wow.  I have trouble going much past 60.  Time to work on the setup.

I have a Bristol Setup that lasts exactly 197 green flag laps before your
crew cheif calls you in and you must have to pit.  The tires are all in
the red but the car doesn't get loose at all.  The speed only drops off a
little, too.

I have the same issue.  Change the pit window in the bristol.txt file, line
is speedway and the numbers to change are the 2nd and 3rd.  These define
the AI pit window.

I guess the question is, "What speed are you running at the start and
the end of fuel load?" As an extreme example, if you only run 120mph,
I could easily see how your tires could last 197 laps without your
speed dropping off much. Hell from there, your speeds could even
IMPROVE at the end of the run...

Well, I did about 110 laps last night(ace setup).  Could have made 150 laps on
fuel, but the tires were GONE... :(

...with a STANDARD setup?!?  I don't see it...
I was able to do a 132+ in Nascar 1 with a setup I didn't think had a CHANCE
of working...I haven't played around with NCR2 setups much(slow computer, and
I was never a good wrench anyway).
Help...?
