Imagine Grand Prix 3 with better graphics. I'll be waiting for something
better before I fork out $40 for this. I can't believe this is the best they
could come up with.

Looking at the vids of GP4 - it's only mildly better graphics.

And as for the physcis - a 22 car man train ( Crammond as the caboose)

Not impressed here either, I must admit have not delved too deeply but first
impressions are not good.

It might as well be GP3.5 or something :(.
Exact same menu/controller setup as well ;_;

You're giving GP4 that many points.  I give it a 1, only for its CD
Mastering technique, whatever that might have been.

This game is going back where it came from.

Problems I see--

1.  Sense of speed is like minimal.  Doesn't even compare to F1 2002's sense
of speed, which I think is very good.  With GP4 I can go 175 mph and it's
like I'm not moving at all.

2.  Controller setup.  The most awkward set up I've ever seen.  Why do they
continue to go with this?  I spent an hour trying to set the thing up to my
satisfaction and still couldn't get it right.  Steering sensitivity was way
too slow, once in the game.  Had to press the brake to get things to slow
down so I could select things in the menu.

3.  Frames are awful, when compared to F1 2002.

Nothing much more to comment on, but this title is embarrassing.  I'm not
going to waste my time finding out anything more about the goods and bads of
this game.

Deselect joystick control in the menus. Exactly why this feature is still in
there is not very clear, let alone why it's on by default... it's a Crammond
thing.

From the sound of things, people who are used the GPx series are not going
to encounter many difficulties, but it's good to know in Crammond land
nothing ever changes and it's therefore not really worthwhile to shell out
for this one at full price.

Do one quick test for me... is the "hand of god" slow down penalty for
straightlining a chicane still in there?

Yes, still there. Ofcourse I should add, GP4 is nothing more than GP3
with a small graphics update. I heavily regret wasting the 15 minutes
downloading GP4 :-/

Wow... guess that answers my other question too.

Your input, as ever, much appreciated though. Thanks buddy.

That's pretty sad when you feel cheated for DOWNLOADING the game :) It must
be quite bad...

Thanks,
Alex

That would be GP2.5.5 then. :)
