At high gear http://www.racesimcentral.net/
being a valid newsgroup. Go and vote now!
They may take our webspace but they will never take our freedom!!!!!!

And, as of 3:22 PST or so on May 22, the majority of those polled
(41%) had no clue whatan "r.a.s." is.

The next largest group (31%) feels the ng offers honest opinions and
good info.

Then things turn ugly.  "Too much ego stroking and flaming" weighs in
virtually equal to "If it's not GPL, they don't give it a chance" at
about 11% each.

Which tempts one to say it's a fair poll, but it's no GPL.  <g>

I think it's pretty rude for a sim racing news *website* to take a poll on
whether or not a sim racing *newsgroup* is "valid".  How would Kenneth like it if
we took our own poll:

Is High Gear valid sim racing news website?

Yep... It just proves that any goof can make a web site and
publish anything they want. I could start a web site and take
a poll to see if www.simracingnews.com is valid :-)

In fact I never of those self-important dorks before this.

Well what the hell would the people at www.simracingnews.com
care for? I seriously doubt they could cause the NG to be removed.
After all it is getting more posts than the flightsim NG... And that
is what counts. The people at www.simracingnews.com seem
like some type of nosy busy-bodies to me.

I was a bit puzzled by this too, but there seems to be a lot of people
who don't know about newsgroups. (Lucky them :)

I voted for this one, since I've yet to ask a question without getting
a good answer, although some questions doesn't have an answer besides
"Doesn't work" :(

40 % don't know, 30 % like it, and 30 % don't like it. Which gives
50 % like this newsgroup and 50 % do not.

LOL

I certainly agree with that.
Heck, just from the number of posts per day here, I would have to say it's
pretty darn valid.

Oh no! does this mean that we could be...invalidated ?
Or maybe we were never really valid in the first place, and were a
bastard news group. I'm so confused.

I echo that..
The people on this ng have given me more answers to queries I have had than
I care to remember. I really don't know where else I would have got them
from if this ng wasn't around.

Long Live RAS!!!

You mean realistic racing?  It is called rec.autos.simulators...

rec.autos.simulators is a usenet newsgroup formed in December, 1993. As this group was always unmoderated there may be some spam or off topic articles included.
