And yes, most people remove all aids. =:-D
To be really competitive, you need to turn off the driving aids. If you
find you need the aids, you might start with the Advanced Trainer cars.
They are a ball to drive, but not quite the handfull of the F1's.
Try Alison's Coventry or Murasama setups for F1 (available at her site). Or
if you want to give Advanced Trainers (F2) a try, there's a link on Alison's
site to Steve Smith's great setups, too.
Have fun! It takes a while, but the payoff is huge.
