Viper racing braking

Viper racing braking

Has anyone else found these Vipers amazingly unstable under braking. It
seems that if you loosen off the controls ever so slightly or brake just
a bit too hard the tail gets out of line. I've tried fiddling with the
brake balance but never managed to solve this.
Spins and collisions are in slo-mo - you know when it's going to happen
but it seems like there is nothing you can do about it.
Apart from these gripes this is a really fun game and a great way to
learn about car setups.

Braking instability can be fixed quite easily.  Add some negative camber to
the front.  The should cause the car to push under braking, yet remain
stable under throttle if something else is done to the suspension to loosen
the car up a tad.

I haven't really noticed that but you may want to set up your front
end slightly "toe in". You probably already know this but,  you should
only brake in a straight line. This is of course if you are not trying
to "trail brake". The Viper weights around 3400 plus pounds so once it
starts to come around on you it's hard to keep it together.

I'm using the throttle wheel on my Wingman Force joystick and I will say the
brake does seem more touchy than the accelerator does. Not sure why. Guess
I'll just have to race a real Viper to see if its normal or not. :)
