Viper Racing: braking causes a spin

I'm playing Viper Racing 1.1 with a Logitech Wingman Formula Force.
I've been doing some quick races with the default setups.  The
slightest pressure on the brake pedal starts the tail wagging.  If I
don't let up, the car will spin.

The default brake bias is 65% front.  Changing it to 70% helps, but
that seems awfully high.  I don't have much experience tweaking car
setups (neither in sims nor in Real Life).  Should I be playing with
other settings to make the car more comfortable?

Haven't played Viper for a while but there are still probably some good
sites with downloadable setups. Do a search of Viper and I'm sure
you'll come up with some.

I think I had the same problem...
Somehow I had the brakes linked to reverse gear ?.
If thats it the car will select reverse gear as soon as you touch the brakes

Do you have ABS on?  I have found that without it, the slightest touch of
the brakes and wheels lock up.  I then put it on and, hey presto, the car
stops on a pin!  If anything, this will improve lap times not harm them.

BTW: Real vipers have ABS as standard so it won't effect your simulation.
