Engine failure in N4 when everything appears normal

Engine failure in N4 when everything appears normal

Wondering if anyone out there has experience an engine failure when all the
gauges are indicating that the engine is running at the proper temp, oil
temp, oil pressure, and not being over reved during a race.

A couple of buddies I know have experienced blown engines with no warning
that anything was wrong.  Water temps were at 200, oil temp was at 210 or
220, revs were well below the red line, with no brief blips to the red line.

Wondering if this is a random incident that has been programmed into the
game.  Any ideas or comments would be welcome.  Be sure to check out

I have had this bite me once.

The ironic thing is, random mechanical failures were supposed to be an
option that you could select if you wanted that extra element of
realism.

Happened to me just last night in an online game, exactly as you described.
Ended up a camshaft failure.

Don't *real* engines occasionally blow with no prior warning?  You just don't
have the luxury of doing an engine post-mortem to discover a $2 part that
failed...
