McLaren has it too (the device), but where are they? I would like to
*** about it too, but since it's not illegal (since his last
throttle-control disqualification disqualification in 94 MS wouldn't
try his luck again:), kudos to both teams of engineers/designers.
Seems Ferrari has the right package for the '97 title (unfortunately
IMHO): EDO2 engine, lighter chassis, throttle control, MS to drive,
Irvine as anti-Frentzen device ... :)
Yet imho this Shumi frenzy is good for the sport, a 'hypermediatized'
hero is always a good attraction for the casual race viewer. Hehe,
just thought of it: "The Schumachers - the Boyz Band of Formula 1!"
;)
To clarify my point, I don't want a guy who quietly drives with no
opposition to win. I want fights. Not crashes, but guys who overtake,
who push, keep setting their fastest laps chasing someone or running
away. This season I can cite about 10 drivers who are real racers,
compared to MS who now acts as a driver (albeit a very good one). OK,
I have watched the '97 season for free so far (yet unwillingly
invested a lot of nerves into the commercial breaks), but in october I
am back to France, and I want fights for my money. This is F1, not a
rallye.
