Force Feedback & GPL - verdict?

Bart,

I agree it can be hard to get those quick corrections in, with the wheel
fighting back.

My non-FF LT wheel has been modified for more rotation. Just had the Formula
Force apart, and increased it as much as I can. It will not handle the 270
degrees (approx.) that I have on the Formula. I also have lighter centering
springs on my Formula, so it is effortless and smooth. The FF wheel has all
that spinning stuff inside it, and even with the FF turned off, it feels
strange.

The steering wheel nut was loose on my Logitech FF also, as I've seen other
people mention. I'll give it another go with the increased rotation,
tightened up, and some more FF settings.

Force Feedback & GPL - verdict?

: The verdict is two thumbs way up.

:>What is the objective view on Force Feedback now that Papy have got
:>involved.

:>Do you feel:
:>loss of traction front & rear, curbs, bumps, yumps, locking wheels etc.?

: Yep you feel varying levels of the above as well as the wheel getting
: "heavier" as the tire loads up, this lets you know that the tire is about to
: lose grip, so you can ease up and prevent it, really helped me in preventing
: spins.

You have to infer what's happening with the rear wheels (obviously,
since the steering wheel doesn't connect to the rear wheels) - but you
can somehow feel the rear breaking away at times.

If you hit the armco then the wheel jerks about a lot - curb give the
wheel a bit of a tap whereas a "wheel on the grass" feels a bit rough.

One of the things I really like is damaged suspension.  Previously I
could only work out I _had_ damaged my suspension because of handling
problems.  Now the wheel pulls to the right direction so that where is
"centre" on the wheel has changed.  (Presumably because the front
suspension is bent).  Great stuff.

Cannot tell about F1RS with the logi, since I'm driving MGPRS2.
Topped up with the patch, FF is really amazing - all effects
