SCGT Indycar conversion?

by David Mocn » Thu, 02 Dec 1999 04:00:00

I'm sure I read somewhere that there are 3rd party Indycars for SCGT ... I
can't find them. Anyone can point me to them ... it could replace ICR2 on my
hard drive :-)
BTW, does the***ip view look like an openwheeler?

Also, anyone knows of F1 conversion for SCGT?

Thanks,
David Mocnay

I posted this a while back thinking many of the Indycar
fans would be interested - apparently I was wrong.

I think it still uses the Nascar style original dash.
I don't know since I always run fullscreen.

Also the Indycar is very difficult to drive, anywhere
from 1,100 - 1,600 hp!

Not irony, it shows the sad state of affairs of current openwheel
racing in America.  I don't think it has a dash yet, but I"m sure one
will happen eventually.  One problem with open***pit cars in SCGT tho,
The original program was for closed canopy cars only.  So  there is now
view for a***pit without a roof...Some clever artists have gotten
around this for the WSC cars by making a "helmet view" where the roof
portion is painted like the inside of a helmet and the view is slightly
higher.  Sounds hokey but they do a good job.
You can find out more about the Champ Car conversion at gtinsider in
the forums.  Choose the general forum and look for one of the threads
with the most responses, chances are that has a few previews and
possibly a link to the Champ Cars...designed by an Australian btw...
Any champ cars don't have that much horsepower.  the IRL cars are
somewhat less than F1, engines are based on Sportscar V8's.  But the
Champ Cars of Cart are currently the most powerful engines in open wheel
circut racing. approx. 850 to 900 hp.(I think!)

The box said "Windows 95 or better", so I installed LINUX!
