The only thing Im convinced of is that I sure the
hell don't have no "Pentium III 866EB, Soyo SY-6ICA i820 Motherboard, 128MB
of  800MHz (400MHz. DDR) Techworks  RDRAM, WD Expert AC418000 7200 RPM ATA66
Hard Drive" kicking round my place,do any of You?
Perhaps a more realistic system would give the avarage
shumck a better idea about what kind of performance to expect.That
said,can't wait to get one!

Well, generally speaking i820 boards don't perform up to the same speed as
BX boards (believe it or not) and the speed of the RAM makes virtually no
difference to anything.  The HD is the same speed as mine, and the CPU is
the only component that is noticeably faster (200 Mhz).
If you want to know how fast the card is there are previews out there
comparing it against a GeForce, GeForce 2 GTS and Voodoo 3.
I do see your point though.  :)

Ya Simon, it's just that the new cards, at least 3dfx, were supposed to be
less processor dependent. So they'd run almost as fast on a 300 mhz computer
as they do on a 600 mhz.  I'd like to know how true this really is.

everything on the web) it's actually more CPU dependant than the GF2 :(
