Yeah, thats what I meant, the monocoque remains in tact but the nose does
not...

However, the nose took the full brunt and didn't break, I'd thought that'd
be bad for Burti. If it deforms it takes the impact, if it doesn't then the
impact goes through the car and Burti himself... he's ok though, no need to
worry.

Maybe the tyres took most of the impact so the nosecone didn't need to
deform. Whatever the reason at least Burti survived the accident. If it had
happened a decade previously I feel we may be discussing another lost
driver.
