SCGT CDROM Classics Version?

I picked up SCGT EA Classics version today at a store that does not
take returns once the game is opened. Want to make sure of something
before I open it. I glanced over the back of the box when I got home
and noticed it says, "Eight world renowned tracks". The demo version I
tried has an advert at the exit screen that says it comes with 11
tracks. Is this a typo on the box or is it a hobbled version? Anyone
know?

I just counted them, and there are about 11, not counting the
variations on some existing tracks.
There are some reversed tracks, plus short/long variations of certain
tracks, and some seasonal stuff (Octoberfest).

I say open it. I think the text on the box is a typo. Great game.

3 tracks in SCGT are fictional (but closely based on real-life portion of
tracks).

Ah, that explains why it says 8 on the box then.

Thx. I opened it before I saw your reply anyway. :-)
Yes, it is quite good. Bought F1 2000 today also, had to turn the
graphics down, but have got it to a very palyable level now. It's also
very good, but needs some AI fixes for sure. Right now there's just
way too many AI cars crashing.

Nos,

If you do open the box, write back and let us know if it is the full
version. I am going to have to give back the copy I have been 'borrowing'
off a mate for ages soon, and will have to get my own, and if I can pick
up a cheaper Classics version that would be good!

Cheers

Yep, it's the full version. SCGT also comes in a bundle pack with
Nascar Revolution and Need For Speed III. It was on sale for $23.99,
but usually costs $29.99 Canadian. I was only intersted in SCGT though
so used the $6.00 I saved on the classic version towards F1 2000.

Nos, I bought the bundle for $19.99US, but SCGT by itself was there for
$9.99US.  Ashamedly, I got the bundle to give NasRev and the patch to my
brother to try out - N3 scares the hell out of him, and he didn't seem to
get into N99 (for some unknown reason...).  Figure I could get about $10 for
NFS if I wanted.

The version you got has an online only manual for SCGT. The classic
version has a small hard-copy manual. I almost bought the bundle
version though because I was thinking the same way as you. Either
version is good value for your money.

I run all my paper thru the printer till BOTH sides are printed on, so
paper's virtually free. Ink's pretty cheap at $10 a cartridge, so printing
the manual's no biggie to me.  Still a great, IMO.

Yes, but it was just a moment of weakness. I didn't actually buy
Nascar Revolution and NFS3. :-)

Oh, of COURSE not.  No one would admit to that in here....  Glad to know
you liked SCGT enough to pay an extra $10 that you needed to even if you
already had it... Who needs that "arcade crap" anyway? lol
