Hmmm........that review sums up my experiences with this "new" title fairly
well.
Steering is abysmal......if the real cars handled as badly there would be
few drivers, if any, that could control them at their designed speed.
The LeMans track just released for F1-2001 looks tremendously better than
what is modeled in LeMans 24 Hours despite having fewer trackside buildings.
But I don't care about the buildings as I'm racing the track and the AI, NOT
the eye candy!
F1-2001 and all mods are smooth as silk on my system but I noticed several
glitches/hiccups in LeMans 24 Hours especially at chicanes if behind several
other cars.
The menu system seems to be a direct port from the PS2 version with few, if
any, changes for the PC. Menu control is an arcane combination of keyboard
controls and mouse clicks. Don't these companies ever compare their products
to what is already on the market? If they did they would realize their
competition is light years ahead of them in user interface designs, car
control, and graphics; just to mention a few areas that need dramatic
improvement in this "game".
This goes back to EB tomorrow. Unfortunately they have changed their return
policy so I will have to find another title to replace this with rather than
getting a full refund as in times past. :-(
My three cents worth........sheesh...inflation!

The truth is out there.....You just have to look in the right places.....and
ask the right questions.
I bought this and got rid of it within a couple of weeks!
It ran terrible on my system (about 4-5fps), and it is not too bad a
PC either! (1GHz athlon, 768Mb ram, Radeon 8500).
Worse than this, I could not get it to work with the Momo wheel! The
pedals would not register, and it refused to retain the settings that
did work (I had to set it back up every time I raced).
Overall, the detail was OK, but in the end I got a much better feeling
of what it is like to race Le Mans from SCGT.
