T2 Problem

by Barry Stewar » Sat, 16 Nov 1996 04:00:00

I just bought a T2 and tried it out tonight for the first time on Nascar 1
(I also just bought a new computer, and haven't had time to download N2).
When I calibrate the pedals and fully depress the brake, I get a -1 reading
on the left side of the Joy 1 Y axis - I assume this means the pot reading
went out of range.  The problem is that when I try to race, the brake acts
like a gas pedal and excellerates (sp) the car.  If, during claibration, I
only push the brake pedal down 1/2 to 3/4 of the way, everything calibrates
and works fine, and the car does then brake when the brake pedal is pushed
1\2 to 3\4 the way down.   But when fully depressed, it again acts as the
gas and off I go.  Is there something I'm doing wrong, is this fixed in N2,
or do I have a bad pedal.  Please post or Email a response.  Thanks.

Hi Barry,

Calibrate your pedals as Joystick 2. This might solve your problem. I had
the same problem you do and this solution worked for me.

T2 Problem

Barry,

The problem you mention should NOT be happening.  When I start Nascar 1, ICR2,
or any other Dos driving game.  I do nothing special to set up my T2.

What speed is your computer?  Do you have a cheap soundcard with which you
utilize a cheap joystick port?  I ask because when I went from a 486 to my P133,
I could no longer use the port on the cheap soundcard I had.  A dedicated game
card did the trick for me.

However...

If you are sure your port is okay, then exchange your new T2.  Most retailers
will give you an exchange period for defective products.  If that won't work,
contact Thrustmaster... I've heard that their support is top notch.  (I have yet
to test this, as their products are top notch as well).
