The one they promised would be released last * April*. I'm sure they
could have released a patch a long time ago, but they are keeping it
under wraps to try and make us buy the next version. That's my
*** theory anyway and I'm sticking to it.

Just to let any of you guys who run Kyro hardware know, F1 2001 is simply
amazing.. everything maxed out, at 1024x768 2xfsaa, liquid..No slowdown even
at the back of a full field at the start of a race...The sound is also
simply the best I have ever heard in an f1 sim...Now if they just fix the
FFB!!! Running Monaco at full detail is just awesome...From my limited 4
hours of play so far, the AI also looks pretty good, no more jerking around
the track etc....Best part is the mirrors don't put a fps hit on my system
anymore...

Multiplayer - Can't comment, when I tried it, it crashes to desktop.. And
yes I have the full retail version, not warez..

Thumbs up.

The only site that seemed to have heard of F1 2001 for the PC (as opposed to
Formula One 2001, which is the PS2 title) being released earlier this week
was F1 Racing Online (http://f1gamers.com/), but my local EB (Rochester, NY)
said it hadn't come in yet.  Ditto CompUSA and a couple of other secondary
s/w outlets (Best Buy, Staples, Circuit City).  If anybody is actually
finding it in stores out there, please post here.  I'm interested enuf to
give it a, erm, spin.

This is INCORRECT. Formula One 2001 is a Sony PS2 title that is also coming
out this week.

There is a version of EA Sports F1 2001 for the PS2, and BTW, where the PC
version of F1 2001 doesn't have force feedback implemented, the PS2 does...

According to this thread, force feedback is very definitely implemented in F1 2001 for the PS2:

The FF is working great in the PS2 version. Seems like PC versions are
taking a back seat at EA these days, as at most places (not surprising
when you see the sales numbers).

EA Sports: Madden 2002 is fantastic for the PC even for some who really
isn't into Football.  Maybe that's because no FF is required? LOL.
