Thrustmaster in Win95???

by Michael T Wett » Sat, 07 Sep 1996 04:00:00

I recently upgraded to IndyCar Racing 2 for Win 95 and can not get my
system to recognize the T2.  It worked fine in the DOS version of the
game.  Any ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

You need the adapter that places the wheel and pedals on two different
axies (is that the plural of axis?) of the same joystick.  If you don't
have it, Thrustmaster will send you a replacement.  I got mine within a
week of e-mailing them.

In the Win95 Joystick Control Panel choose custom.  Choose 2 axis, 4
button, and for some reason Microsoft (in the Monster Truck Madness help
File) says not to choose any of the other options (not even the 'is a
racecar controller' option).  You should then be able to follow the
on-screen instructions to calibrate it properly.

I'm planning on building my own wheel/pedal.  Does this mean win95 doesn't
support multiple port joysticks?  I guess I should hook up my pots this way
too right?  The problem is how do I get the two pedals on the same axis?
Does anyone know how to wire the pots for it to do that?

Dear Mike,
Thrustmaster has an adapter specifically designed for use in
Win 95 for the T2.  Try their web page for info.         Steve in Wi
