Has anyone been able to 1) correctly replicate the asymmetrical red on the
Penske engine cowling and 2) paint the inside of the rear wing endplates
red?

The striping on the default deFerran car is badly off and needs serious,
serious work. I haven't tried it myself yet, but Devin Pruzin tells me
he's been unable to make any modifications to the top of the sidepod
here.  Has this been the case for anyone else?

For all those that have inquired about the availability of paintjobs for
the Penske cars in
CPR, they are now available in the Underground Garage:

Thanks for your patience, and enjoy!

Now taking nominations for the next most needy vehicle in the game
(Fernandez?
de Ferran? etc.)

The striping on the top of the de Ferran car cannot be fixed.  I've
noticed that some large sold color areas of some cars are mapped from
very small -- like 3 x 3 pixels -- areas of the .tga file.  Suppose this
is an
attempt to save memory, but it disallows any real editing.

On some cars -- the Penske and Rahal cars jump to mind -- the effect
is similar but not as bad.  Since there was something more than just a
solid color on top, it is possible to change their look, but there is
still
significant pixelization.  Note the red striping at the rear of the
Penske
cars and the Miller logo on my Rahal.

I wonder if the savings in the memory were worth it.  Guess the
designers rationalized that we wouldn't be looking at the tops of the
cars
as much as their sides during the game.

seems to have a problem with the way the colors are rendered.  The
light effect near the air intake is coming up in gray tones, also the
lower
third of the whole sidepod close to the road.  I didn't notice it before

I started to to edit his file, but I restored the original paintjob and
it had
the same problem.  Is it just me, or is it like this for everyone?

No I noticed this on the DeFerran car also.  It looks like the car has
had a wreck and damaged the front of the side pod.
