HELP! N2 no longer run

by DobeMa » Tue, 08 Sep 1998 04:00:00

Help me please!  I reinstalled Nascar Racing 2 tonight and everything
worked fine.  After playing for a bit, I quit to have some dinner.  Now
whenever I go to play, it boots me back to the desktop pretty well
immediately after trying to run.
Is this a commom problem?  Help me see the light!

    Thank you for any help!

Try running the program in dos... you will be able to see if or what kind of
error message you are getting......

HELP! N2 no longer run

I found the problem.  When I re-installed all my setups, the backup
utility I used had an Indy track in it.  So when I copied all my setups
back, I also copied an empty Indy directory.  I removed Indy, and voila!
Bob's your uncle.  Thanks for the tips!

HELP! N2 no longer run

Here are a couple of things to try:  first, take out the CD-ROM before
starting - you will probably get a "critical error" message, that's OK,
just hit 'I' to ignore.  That will keep the intro movie from trying to run
(a lot of systems have trouble with that).  If that doesn't do it, go to
the MS-DOS prompt (within win95) and try running it from there, either by
typing N2 or NASCAR2 from the \sierra\nascar2 prompt.  If you're getting an
error, you should be able to see it instead if it just flipping back to the
desktop.  If you're getting an 'unable to start screen - possibly out of
memory', then you've got corrupt data and will need to reinstall.

Hope this helps
