You're kidding.
Just watched 'Days of Thunder' for the first time. My, but we have a long
way to go to achieve anything NEAR track realism!
I once, somehow and I haven't been able to repeat it, had my game
configured so that when I hit the brakes or down shifted, the nose of the
car would drop and then come up when I accelerated, just like you could see
the cars in this film do. Apart from that, it looks like we should have a
LOT more smoke and dust on the track whenever there's contact.
Anyway, great flick (esp. Robert Duvall). If, like me, you were apparently
under a rock when this came out, check it out from your local flick store.

"So long....and thanks for all the fish!"
PS: If anyone can tell me how to configure a T2 setup to achieve the
chassis movement I once had, I'd REALLY
be grateful!!!!

Well it was a movie and so alot of the smoke & sparks were PURE
FICTIONAL FX. In NASCAR by Papyrus, my car's nose dips if just get out
of the throttle...
Speaking of Days of Thunder.... Did anybody out there try the "turkey"
of a "sim/game" with the same name? It made Bill Elliott's NASCAR
Challenge look like an IMAX movie.

Yep..Unfortunately I waisted money on both of these games. Can you tell
I'm a racing sim fan??
Thanks Papyrus, for saving me money.

This was absolutely the worst movie that was ever made! The only realistic
part of the movie was the fact that a couple of the cars were actual race
cars! Other than that the WHOLE movie was someone's imagination!

I'd be willing to be that there have been more than a few guys who
didn't know the "terms" before working with someone who taught them.

Days of Thunder, is not all that unrealistic (for its time yes), but
back in the old days when Richard Petty WAS the King that's how racing
gained it's popularity. That's how I think they wanted to depict Days
of Thunder. Check out Inside Sports August issue toward the back of the
mag.

Also, how many times did he spin, avoid hitting anything or being hit, and
then a lap or two later, he's back breathing down the neck of the leader.
Should've flat-spotted the tires, but no, he's running laps faster than
anybody including the leader, and blowing by cars 4 and 5 at a time.
The NASCAR teams must've gotten a big laugh out of this one. I sure did.
