GP3 2000 gearing glitch?

I've tried several different setups and game modes trying to find out why
6th gear revs fall off after one lap, for instance at Monza the top speed
entering Parabolica is 200 mph on the out lap but falls to 192 mph
thereafter. Same goes for Spa and Indy.... only other tracks I've spent much
time with. Anyone else have this problem?
