I run LiteStep on my computer instead of Explorer. The link below shows a
picture of the cpu usage graph on my LS wharf bar. The Logitech Wingman
Profiler was running in the background (auto load) and was the only thing
running. Look at the graph and see what happened when I turned the Profiler
off. It was using about 45% cpu usage. That could explain a few things.

I didn't do anything like what you did, but my resources drop at least
10% when I have it running.
Run MSCONFIG and disable it in the startup. As long as you have games
that allow you to program buttons from in-game, you have no real use
for the Profiler.
