I do that at Bristol in N3.  There is so much going on so constantly
that I just stop blinking.  I know what you mean, however.  I think
all of us have been in a sim race zone where things seem to slow down
and you just FLOOOOOOOOW through the race.

But most of the time, I lean my whole body in the turns.  I also talk
to the other drivers, usually with language that makes me glad no one
else is in the room...

It definitely does in GP500.  I also lean into corners with the XTerminator
controller.

In GPL I don't tend to lean so much.  What I do find myself doing is
gripping the wheel too tight.  I end up with hand ache after a few laps.

Cheers

Phil

The "death grip" is definitely my biggest problem.  Every other lap I
have to tell myself to relax my grip.  Out of curiosity Phil, do you have
a FF wheel?  I don't.  I've often wondered if I end up gripping the wheel
tighter and tighter because I'm unconsciously trying to get more feedback
through my hands.

I don't think so... as long as it does not roll on the floor...

My head?  No.  My whole body, yes.  I'm not exactly a little guy, but
this poor chair goes thru hell, especially 500 milers on oval
tracks.<g>  Come to think of it, I bet the whole floor goes thru hell
when I lean...  Think that's bad?  A buddy I know once broke his wheel
he was so "involved" in a sim race!  Can't say I've gotten that bad
yet.  LOL

Most definitely, I probably use a little too much body language .
My wife and daughters give me fits about it :)

My head rolls too, but what i notice more is that I dont get time to
blink.

In firs2 i could look around, check the crowd, read the instrument s
etc, now I am so busy concentrating on the driving aspect, I have to
time my blinks in the strights.

This is a sim that makes it really intense especially in hotlapping

I lean my upper body into turns. I do the ***clenching thing.
I have had sore thigh muscles at work from the tension the
evening before. Also when I draft someone at Monza I stick my
head out to the right side to see if its safe to pass. It
doesnt help much lol

I keep my breath an entire lap around the Ring. After 3 laps or so I have no
problem keeping my head still. At least that's what people tell me. I'm not
aware of that for some reason.

Yes I do.  I use an LWFF and also find that the death grip is my biggest
problem.  When I relax I drive much smoother.  The only problem is that when
I try to relax I become more tense.

It was a tough old CH Flightstick. You have to understand that this guy
always tried to appear kind of dignified. He was quite indignant, though, as
he got up and me, my wife and his wife were laughing so hard that tears came
out of our eyes.

Yep - been there, done that. It's amazing what a game brings out of you... :)

I've caught myself leaning into turns before.  I feel a little silly when I
realize this, but I live alone, so no one's there to laugh at me...<g>

Sorry I'm late into this one but I couldn't let it pass without comment as
it rings so true to me...

I remember once when I was really into an offline league race in Nascar 2 I
had been closely following a car for lap after lap lining it up for a pass
that I actually looked behind me to see if I was clear to try a pass to the
inside :O((

As soon as I had done it I had to pause the race as my sides were splitting
from laughing so much at what a nutter I was......
