Best Wheel and Pedals At Any Cost?

Monitor? For $3595 you can get a Compaq MP1600 projector and display
it on the wall for as big as you want in 1024*768. The color and
brightness are clear enough to leave the lights on. Now take this and
a kart chasis, ff-wheel, and surround sound (in a helmet) and you
would be set. The cool thing about this Compaq MP1600 is that you can
also play TV/VCR/DVD thru it and not have to buy a big screen TV and
it is under 6 pounds (US) and tiny, so it is portable. So I am
thinking for about $10,000 dollars (this price includes the new
computer) you could get an really nice simulator.

What this does not get you is a version of GPL that works with an ACT
Labs shifter!!! Still waiting on that. I really do not think it would
help my times, but I think it would assist in the
'getting-into-the-sim' feeling that is sometimes missing.

Fantastic, Steve!  I had no idea such a thing existed!  And our danged
53 inch TV has been down for over a month; something amiss in the
"regulator" circuit, whatever the heck THAT is!  I don't know ANYONE
who is rich and influential and also a sim enthusiast who I might
encourage/beg to set up such a system, and  *I*  surely don't have
thousands of bucks lying around that I could put to such use!  I
suppose if I were 20 years younger I could look forward to the time
when such a set-up will be available for a fraction of today's cost,
and I'll bet that time will come.  Thanks again for your post!   Glen

Now lets look at this in a better way to convience the others in the
house hold.

A real race car would cost much more than $10,000, would require a
crew of people to assist in tuning/fixing/ETC.
The expense of the tow vehicle and trailer.
Is there a place to race close by?
The simulator is more eco friendly.
No chances for personal ingery, well nothing major.
One of the biggest problems is that, well how do I say this, I am not
the greatest racer . . . so I would just be like a speed bump in the
track, kinda like Lynn St James at the Indy 500 this year. :-O

Ya' got me thinkin', Steve! :-))) Obviously I already have the
computer, the Logi wheel and pedals, and if you could project on a
large bedsheet, the costs might seem fairly reachable!!  Glen Priest

Woodrow,

Yoiu might want to take a look at TSW's pedals. They are very well made and the
spring tension is quite adequate. You might find this article helpful.
