GP2 97 update -

by Rob » Tue, 10 Jun 1997 04:00:00

The current UK edition of PC-Gamer has a set of GP2 utilities on the cover CD
(all of which are available on the net) but, interestingly, they say that
there WILL be GP2 update to the '97 season later this year!

This magazine must have some inside info because Microprose have always denied
and GP2 update or GP3 were going to happen.

Idealy this update would have wet weather, network play and 3dfx support :)
but the 97 cars/drivers/tracks would be fine by me

You are talking about GP3... they say it will be released in 1998 some
time.

But surely you would have the 97 cars/drivers already. There all over
the web, not to mention at http://www.volftp.vol.it/GP2 , though you are
right, the 97 tracks would be v.nice :)

I wonder how they will do this considering they don't have the rights
to the 1997 season?

Cheers!

They might be nice for realisms sake, but looking at the mess that was
made of Imola and the other tracks (do I hear 'chicane frenzy
anyone?'), it mightn't be long before you'd go back to the old tracks!

Better yet, how about Rendition card support for all those sim racers
who already have one...

OOh I do and they are great! But I would happily pay 30 quid for
the additional tracks and 3dfx support :)

Aside from all of the improvements that we could hope for in GP3, I'll
be very, very happy if it just has the same driving model. It feels
unlike any other sim in my opinion.
'course a Rendition patch would be remarkable, etc, etc..
