I can agree with all that. I know I had a bad experience with the game
myself. Bought the PSX version thinking it would be on the par with Gran
Turismo, hehe. It wasn't, matter of fact, thought it was a horrible game.
Friend at work had Ridge Racer 4 and didn't like, cost $20 more since he got
deluxe version, he offered to swap dead even, i swapped and never looked
back, hehe. But then my online PC buds started getting the game and drooling
about it and I was like "are you serious? are we talking about the same
game?".
Well, I spotted SCGT in the bargain box for $15 at the local EB this past
weekend, forked out the cash and came home, installed and never looked back.
PC version rocks!! PSX version be damned, lol. I've never seen such a
mammoth difference between two games on those 2 platforms. Needless to say,
I'm an SCGT junky and total computer sim *** seeing as I own all of
Sierra's sims but GPL (can't find that sucker anywhere! argh!), Monaco GP
RS2, Toca2, Burnout, DTR and I'm sure a few others I can't find yet cause
they're buried under stacks of cd's, lol. All great games in their own ways,
though I've been put off some by DTR, not the games fault, my fault, i need
asphalt!! ROFL
Anyways, yeah, graphics turned down do still retain surprising quality in
SCGT. I love it now. PC version that is. :) Kinda reminds me of something
like MGPRS2 some, which I was surprised my Nascar freak buddies at work
finally forked out after hearing me talk about the game, 1 of which quickly
became a huge F1 fan, lol. Most said the graphics in it are superb. And the
same is going on now with SCGT as a couple came over to the house to check
it out. Never thought I'd see rednecks (hey, i'm Georgian, I'm allowed to
say it) drooling over Porsche's, BMW's, etc, hehe. What they like to call
"that other bunch of racers" or "those other kinda cars".
