That's great...as long as you don't ever want to see another GPL-quality
title produced in the future.  I do, and would be willing to pay double the
current price for it, but not because 1/2 the copies in use out there are
stolen by losers who can't see beyond the end of their own nose.

Are any of us going to produce a quality title ourselves?  I didn't think
so.  So fork over your cash for titles that are quality and that you use or
get lost from this "community."

Marc.

So...do you buy every book that you read?  Tell me you never borrow one
from a friend or, worse, check one out at the library.  I'm sure you don't do
that because I'm quite sure that you aren't a "loser who can't see beyond the
end of his own nose."

For the record, most of the books I borrow or check out I never
actually read.  That means that the author and publisher aren't making money
off of me, yet I am getting the benefit of their copywrited work.  Does that
make me a "loser."

Seems to me that you're using a rather poor analogy there.  Think about it:
what's the difference between an author who, upon signing his or her
contract with the publisher, authorizes that publisher's selling of the book
to libraries, and your comparison of that process w/the warez biz?

Well, thick one, I'll tell you: "C - H - O - I- C - E."  In one instance,
the producer of some artifact explicitly givces permission for an additional
menas of distribution for his or her work; in another, that decision is
***ly taken by some spotty-faced clown at the software factory.

My IQ may have been lowered a little.. :)

Another thing:

Hey, don't say you didn't hear it here first .... Click here: http://www.ebworld.com .

In the Search box, enter PORSCHE

Choose the **PC**  Version of Need for Speed 5: Porsche Unleashed .

Order it for $29.95 plus shipping. In a little over a week, you will
be very surprised by how *nice* and *fun* this game is. I would
tell you how I know this, but .. err .. you understand..

Mine is ON-ORDER!

Don't say I didn't tell you.. ;)

(unsnip)

As it's illegal I would've thought that there wasn't an "appropriate place"
anywhere.

Please, borrow or even rent F1 2000 from a friend or software rental store
before you buy it.  Or better, get the demo when it comes out.  Or, d/l the
warez and base your opinion on that and either buy the full version or
delete it.

Do not d/l a warez copy of GPL (or any other title) and keep using it.  That
is slitting our collective throats.  Since our only common interest here is
racing and driving sims, why would we want to tolerate behaviour that is
counter-productive to that interest?

Marc.

Yes, I gathered that he got the gist of the original request.  It's
just that when someone asks for the warez version of this, or the
crack/keygen for that, most people give the ohhhh so tired response
of, "you can get it from Papyrus!" or "It's right here at
www.symantec.com."  That being the case, I just wanted to add my own
thoughtless, tired response to someone else's thoughtless, tired
response.

Libraries operate on different principles, including how roylaties are
covered. same with ....not comparable to ripping-off an illegal copy of
electronic data.
