I bought a serial cable (female on both sides) but it doesn't work.
Have I got the wrong cable? Or is it the game that giving me problem.

You need a null modem cable. It is the same as a serial cable except
that some of the wires are crossed (connect to different pins at each
end).

I test null modem cables with Laplink - a program to transfer files
from PC to PC.

You need a null modem cable, you should be able to get one from any good
computer shop.
