One thing I notice after driving the cars on the FIA/ALMS mod for a
few months is you become a better driver. I use to drive off the road
all the time with GPL. I fired GPL up again after a few months of
FIA/ALMS and my driving really improved. I actually got ~1:28 at
Kyalami, and I'm on the road! I know, with ~1:28, I ain't no Huttu,
but that's a personal best.
Same here. It's a real toss-up which is the better add-on, though. GT or ALMS.
I think the ALMS mod may be more like driving a modern sports car. I would like to think
that these cars have a lot more grip in real life than the "GPL" like cars as portrayed in
the GT mod. And it certainly is less processor hungry than the GT mod.
All in all, we are ***y fortunate to have either.
The fia gt mod is like you are driving on gpl tires, where the alms mod is
like real slicks..
It must be a bit more realistic than spinning around in circles with the merest hint of
pressure on the accelerator. These cars generate loads of downforce, don't they ?
Yup the two mods certainly are miles apart in grip levels. With the FIA
GT mod, using a Viper, I have admitted defeat and turned on the low setting
for stability control...(throttle assist?) It's soooo touchy that if I want
to make a lap at all I enable that helper. Sure love the bigger sound in
the GT mod..

I understand that, but the tiny amount of input required to send the cars into a spin is
ridiculous.
