Thanks for the kind words. The Dr said I should be able to start
putting some pressure on it in 2 weeks. So we will see I guess :-)

What does the F12k 1.09 patch do???

hi

seems like 109 did not do much more than
what 106 did

I sure did not note any difference in the game
did you ??

What does the F12k 1.09 patch do???

thus spoke:

No, of course not. I lose function of my left leg a number of months
every year due to venous stasis so know what it is like and have for
about four years now. Get's these *** ulcers in my ankle which make
doing anything painful. Damn things take about 3-4 months to heal too.

In the meantime get a copy of Combat Mission so you can play a game
with just the mouse. Very good wargame.

I've only driven one race since 1.09, but there was no massive pile up
in the first turn at Albert Park so either the patch has greatly
improved the AI or I got lucky.

I never bet for money - unless I'm guaranteed to win!

Well that may not be realistic :-) Many races have tangles at the
first turn...

Do you have a FF wheel??? If so what about the crash FF effect
with the new patch?

Just tried it and yep, the FF effect on collision has been removed.
Obviously a sloppy way to 'fix' the problem that some people were having.

Exactly... Glad to hear about this, I am sticking with 1.06. My
opinion of the F1 2000 programers just went into the toilet.
This is almost worse than what the falcon4 programers did
to "optomize" framerate. They reduced the bubble size to
1. This has been reversed as of late, that the F4 team kind
of sucked to come up with that "optomization".

Sheesh no wonder the PC game hobby is crapping out.

Was (is) it not possible to adjust the bubble size in F4?  I thought it was.

I still got pile ups with 1.06. Need to test some more to see if there
is a dif in this area between .06 and .09.

With 1.08us it makes no dif adjusting the slider. There is a 3rd party
hack now that fixes it though and does allow for adjustment.

You can change it manually. Go to your ....falcon4\campaign\save
directory and edit the file falcon4.aii. Look for simbubbledata, the
default value is 350000 IIRC. Lowering this value will decrease the
bubble size (mine's set to 150000 at the moment).
