Hey!

Does anybody have experience of formula simulators with:
P2 350MHz, 64Mb, 6.4Gb, Millenium G200 (without 3d card)
or with a computer close to that

How would it do in GP2, F1RS and GPL?

How much would the computer above cost in Your country?,

In Finland about 11 000fim= 2 200U$ (without sound card)

Hi !!

Hmm. I've a P2 333 too with 64 Mb but a 3dfx Voodoo 1 with a TNT...
GP2 runs very well (at last !!) but GPL is very hard with processors...a TNT
is almost sufficient (20 fps with lots of cars..you'd have 10 fps with a
G200)...
F1RS (and Monaco GPRS2) have no problems since P200 is widely sufficient
(with a 3dfx) or P2 233 with a Direct 3d card (G200, TNT, ATI..)

In my country it'd be 1800 $

Bye !!

Hi ,

I've a Puter very close to yours with a G200 a celeron 300 A , 128 meg sdram
100mhz , a 6.4 Hd too (seagate) and a 3D PCi  Sound Blaster card
OI must confess than the G200 is very poor to play GPL (even with matrox
patch), a lot of display errors and colours are crappy , the Fps are not
terrific too .
But got too , a few month ago, a  creative Voodoo2 3 dfx too which is really
great in this game :o)
Buy one , or replace your G200 by a Banshee

Concerning the price of my puter   , It cost me around 1100 $ without the
monitor

I've got a P2-333 (usually overclocked to 412), 64 MB, and a G200
(plus a Voodoo 1).

GP2: Fine.  You'll have to turn a couple of things off.

F1RS: Fine.  The D3D patch works well on the G200.

GPL: The Matrox patch is beta.  Good frame rates (36 fps most
of the time at 800x600) but too many visual artifacts.  If
they fix the artifacts, the G200 will be a good GPL card.
If they don't, you'll want to switch to a Rendition card or
add a Voodoo.

USA

Abit BH6:          $100
P2-350:            $225   (A Celeron 300a is about $145)
G200:              $100
6.4 GB HD:         $150   (brand matters; read www.storagereview.com)
good mouse:        $ 25   (Horrible mouse: $5)
usable keyboard:   $ 40   (Horrible keyboard: $10)
floppy:            $ 20
decent case:       $ 60   (Lousy case: $30)
lousy OS:          $ 80   (Good OS that can't run these sims: Free)
decent sound card: $ 35

(Monitors, modems, speakers, and steering wheels vary wildly.)
